Regional Gastronomy, Tourism and Environmental sustainability in cooperation with local businesses using a digital framework
Aim of the project: students and teachers will send information about their own country and gather information from the partners’ country about typical dishes, historical figures, symbols, traditional feasts and myths. A contest as an icebreaker, where each partner will create a Kahoot quiz focusing on its own culture, will represent an enjoyable way to know different customs better. Being in touristic guides’ shoes students will enter in contact with different aspects of their own culture and through visits at local businesses, interviews to local farmers and appreciation of other cultures, they’ll realise how fair behaviors and traditional products can have a positive impact on gastronomical, touristic and environmental dimensions. Building a net with producers, touristic officers, partners, and guests in the Twinspace, the local community and other schools, students will be able to act as innovators in the building of an eco-gastronomical-touristic digital map.
There has been taken place already been two mobilities. In spring 2022 students and teachers investigated Sicilian local businesses and historical touristic places and in autumn project partners meet in Tallinn. The program took Denmark and Sicilian students to the biggest iland in Estonia – Saaremaa. In spring 2023 there will be last mobility to Denmark.
